Capability Statement


Many clients of the NDIS experience a number of common issues that can be helped with Counselling services.  

Many clients experience depression and anxiety. They will frequently experience a loss of agency and a sense of helplessness.

Many NDIS clients have health issues that may be impacted by emotional eating, obesity and other issues relating to emotional regulation.


Emotional regulation issues can also be central to addiction where someone is addicted to gambling or alcohol or smoking. 


Emotional regulation is at the heart of helping people change to create better lives. However, many people have learnt poor emotional regulation skills from their parents and then attempt to put their emotional regulation.


At Aspire we help people to get meaningful change in their lives by enhancing their emotional regulation and capacities to respond to their environment differently through programs that change the trigger response loops in their behavior at an unconscious level.

Enhanced Living Skills Program-Anxiety, Depression

In the Enhanced Living skills program we assist clients in dealing with common mental health challenges such as depression and anxiety and ensure they have increased capacities to manage their own emotional health. 

Each program goes for 6 sessions that can be broken down into roughly 3 steps. 

Step 1 Breaking the Trigger Response Loops

Mental health challenges like depression and anxiety are often triggered by events or things in the external environment that create a response that is automatic. This automatic responding can be broken and changed through a conditioning program. 

Step 2 Building new patterns of responding

Once the old trigger response loops are broken new patterns of emotional responding are practiced and rehearsed so that when an event in the external environment occurs then a new more functional response is exhibited. 

Step 3 Increasing resilience for future changes

Once the previous steps have been carried out, we look to increase our client's resilience and capacity for achieving what they want and being able to deal with any challenges they may encounter in the future. 

Enhanced Living Skills Program-Quit Smoking

Step 3 Making Comprehensively Healthy Choices

Once the previous steps have been carried out, we look to increase our client's resilience and capacity for achieving what they want and being able to deal with any challenges they may encounter in the future.
